Dabin Study Center - Department of Education and Studies for PDK Cadres
The Dabin Study Center is a significant architectural contribution by GK Architects, commissioned by one of the oldest and most influential political parties in Kurdistan, the Kurdistan Democratic Party (PDK). Known for its deep rooted legacy, PDK has historically invested in the development and education of its cadres, recognising their role as the future torchbearers of the party’s values and the region’s political landscape. In alignment with this vision, GK Architects was entrusted with the design of a comprehensive study centre dedicated to the growth, education, and enrichment of PDK cadres. The facility is envisioned not just as a building, but as a nurturing environment where future leaders are moulded.
Landscapes
The building program includes
•Modern classrooms for structured political and social education
•Meeting rooms to foster dialogue and strategic discussions
•A large auditorium hall for lectures, seminars, and public events
•A specialised library and archive centre , housing an extensive collection of historical records, political documents, and curated archives of PDK’s journey
The library serves a dual function: it is both an educational hub and a historical repository, allowing members and scholars to engage with the party’s rich legacy. Through access to this material, cadres gain in-depth knowledge of PDK’s history, philosophy, and political contributions, preparing them to become responsible, informed individuals who can serve their communities effectively.
Architecturally, the design reflects the party’s values , clarity, strength, and forward vision with clean volumes, strategic transparency, and purposeful spatial arrangements that encourage openness, growth, and unity.
This project is not only an institutional building but a symbol of PDK’s ongoing commitment to education, history, and leadership development.
